Fat Tuesday 2011!

“Mardi Gras” is French for Fat Tuesday, Mardi Gras is a huge celebration with parades and masked dancers and purple, black and gold beads. You can’t forget about the beads, they’re everywhere and we all know how girls like to earn them. We all think of Fat Tuesday as a day dedicated to feasting on unhealthy foods and partying all day and night, but what is it really? It’s the practice of indulging in all of the foods the last night before you give them up and begin the fasting of the Lenten season, which starts tomorrow on Ash Wednesday. Mardi Gras has become a huge celebration in the city of New Orleans. People from all over the country flock to New Orleans to walk the streets and celebrate Mardi Gras.
