The 24th Annual Kennett Run will be taking place this Saturday, May 18, 2013! The Kennett Run Charities was established in 1989 with the purpose of promoting the general well being and civic betterment of Kennett area residents, organizations and projects. Since its inception $430,963 has been gifted to the community and $73,348 has been donated for park and trail work.
The Kennett Run offers something for all ages and abilities ranging from a 1 mile fun walk to a 10K Power Run and everything in between. The race is staffed by wonderful volunteers followed by a big party in the park for all racers and families. Food, drinks and entertainment all provided by local businesses and sponsors, celebrating the strength of community and family in Kennett Square. On Saturday, April 13, 2013 the Brandywine Folk Collective is partnering with SPARC (Southeastern Pennsylvania Autism Resource Center) for a community event! In lieu of Autism Awareness Month proceeds are in benefit of SPARC which offers clinical services for individuals on the autism spectrum. The annual Willowdale Steeplechase is a family-friendly event enjoyed by over 10,000 spectators who spend a casual yet sophisticated day in Chester County’s horse country. The Chadds Ford Historical Society is hosting the fifth annual winter Plein Air event with over 30 juried artists from the Mid-Atlantic Region participating. An Exclusive Preview Party will be held on Saturday, February 2nd, from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Preview ticket holders will be treated to a first look and sale of wet paintings. They will enjoy scrumptious hors d’oeuvres and wine while enjoying the gallery display of fine art. Then from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. the Paint Out event will open to the general public so everyone will enjoy an evening of wine and cheese with the artists.
