The 73rd Annual Chester County Hospital House Tour is coming up on October 5, 2013, and Fig West Chester is currently giving away two tickets to the event! The Land Conservancy for Southern Chester County (TLC) has something for everyone at this years Hootenanny Hoedown happening September 28, 2013 at Plantation Field located north of Unionville on Rt. 82. The day begins with a 5K Trail Run for Conservation. Registration is at 7:30 with 9:00 a.m. race start—online and day of registration are available. The 5K is a moderately hilly course well suited for the cross country runner, from beginner to seasoned athlete. It’s a great opportunity to check out a unique 5K course on a beautiful stretch of private property in the heart of horse country.
The festivities culminate with an evening at the Hootenanny Hoedown Wild West Saloon. Saloon doors swing open at 6:00 p.m. Come dressed as your favorite outlaw for an evening of great BBQ style food, live music by “The Coyotes” (Eclectic American Roots), and table games amidst the backdrop of Chester County’s bucolic countryside under a beautiful night sky. Ticket price includes food, beverages, and gaming chips. There will also be music for those who would rather dance than game the night away. New this year the Wild West Saloon will offer 50/50 Chicken Bingo and a silent auction with wonderful items.

Another flash-flood warning for Philadelphia, southern Delaware County and southeastern Montgomery County expires at 3:45 p.m. Residents are advised to stay away from flood waters, as “even a few inches of rapidly flowing water can carry away a vehicle,” according to the service. As many as two inches of rainfall are estimated to already be accumulating in the area, with four inches possible before the end of the day.
