Visiting Tyler Arboretum

Over the weekend I had the opportunity to visit Tyler Arboretum which is located right off route 352 in Media, Pennsylvania. Although I have passed it several times over the years, I never actually had the time to check it out until this past weekend. I expected the Arboretum to be a smaller version of Longwood Gardens but I was wrong. It was a very large location and offered many different walking paths and other interesting objects such as the magnificent tree houses. Despite the intense heat visiting Tyler Arboretum was a blast. I was surprised to find out that Tyler is one of the oldest and largest arboreta in the northeastern United States.

After visiting the Arboretum I definitely encourage anyone living in the area or visiting to check it out. It’s open year round, with 650 contiguous acres and 17 miles of hiking trails, Tyler provides a natural sanctuary for families, children, and adults – bird enthusiasts, hikers and visitors interested in history and horticulture.
