The National Weather Service has issued an Excessive Heat Warning from 12pm today 7/15/13, to 8pm on Wednesday 7/17/13. This alert comes after a watch was cancelled earlier today and upgraded to a warning. Heat index values are expected to be up around 100 degrees Monday & Tuesday and closer to 105 on Wednesday. Temperatures during the day will reach the mid 90s and not much relief is expected at night as overnight lows will only drop down in to the mid to upper 70s.
An Excessive Heat Warning means that a prolonged period of dangerously hot temperatures will occur. The combination of hot temperatures and high humidity will create a dangerous situation in which heat illnesses are likely.
