This according to 6abc Local, September 25, 2012: “Police say a bankruptcy attorney was the target of a violent home invasion in Chester County where one suspect covered his face with a Halloween mask.”
Police say at around 6:00 p.m. three, possibly four, masked men armed with semi automatic guns forced their way into the home on the 300 block of Hillendale Road in Pennsbury Township. Authorities say one of the suspects was wearing a Green Lantern or Green Goblin Halloween costume. There was a struggle and shots were fired, striking the homeowner.”
The victim has been identified as wealthy Chester County attorney Fred Barakat who practices in Delaware and Pennsylvania. Barakat was transported to Crozer Chester Medical Center for treatment. “He suffered some wounds from his struggle. He is conscious and speaking with our Troopers. The injuries that he sustained do not appear to be life threatening at this point,” Trooper Corey Monthei said. Barakat is from a well known family in Chester and Delaware Counties and made his fortune in corporate law according to friends who didn’t want to go on camera. The incident was reported at 6:18 p.m. at Barakat’s home on Hillendale Road near Chadds Ford.
State Police do not have a good description of the home invaders but, two of the intruders wore masks and the one who didn’t was described as 30 to 40 years old, about 6 feet tall with short blond hair, Monthei said. They believe the men got away in a white or cream colored Mitsubishi Diamante. Anyone with tips or information is urged to contact Police immediately.
